Micheline Egan is from Castlebar. She began her career in journalism in 1980. She worked in Ireland, Britain, the United States and South America. During this time she received a Cosmopolitan Magazine Award for career achievement.
........On her return to Ireland she spent seven years in communications consultancy. One of her major projects involved the re-positioning of cider in the Irish drinks market. She lectured on public relations for five years.
